5 Quick Productivity Hacks to Crush Your Goals Quicker!

Let’s get productive! Mindset and productivity are some of the key ingredients to crushing your goals and getting more done! Let’s get into it!

Only Deal With Something Once;

Deal with something once. Do it now. Do you know how much time we waste just thinking about what we ‘should’ get done? If you think of it more than twice, just do the thing. That laundry isn’t going to put itself away, that paperwork isn’t going to get itself done either! Do it, then it’s off your mind, and you can fully focus on the next matter. Think about how much energy you’re going to free up when you’re tackling these little pesky tasks right away! No physical clutter and no mental clutter, it’s the dream really.

One Minute Rule;

A bunch of trivial tasks, not intimidating when viewed singly, can easily mount up and seem overwhelming. Like that laundry piling up! By eliminating them as they crop up, I make myself feel freer, more energetic and more creative. In less than a minute. Think about all the extra time you’ll have to apply your creativity elsewhere!
Let’s think about what we can get done in just one minute.. GO! Fold the laundry (finally) make your bed, clean that bathroom mirror, clean your desktop, open all your mail and throw away what’s not important.. take that pile of shoes that’s building up near the door or under the coffee table and put them where they are meant to be and send that one email reply you’ve possibly been avoiding! TA-DA! Now all those little tasks that take no time at all are done, and you don’t have to schedule in an hour of your day to do them all!

Focus on what’s important, not just what’s urgent!

It’s natural to want to get deadline-driven tasks squared away and off your mental to-do list. A paradox many people face is that our most meaningful tasks are less likely to have deadlines than tasks that are relatively unimportant yet urgent (like getting a post up on social media to appease the social media algorithm gods yet it doesn’t really move the needle forward in your business). Your musts will always get done, but your ‘should’ and ‘would be nice’ goals NEVER get the attention they need when you’re always focused on urgent tasks. You MUST take back control of your time. It’s the only investment we can never earn back. Schedule important tasks and give yourself way more time than you think you’ll need so you don’t feel like you’re always behind.

Learn to say no;

Saying no to unnecessary commitments can give you the time you need to recover and rejuvenate. Saying no to daily distractions gives you space and time to focus on what is important to you. Saying no to temptation, helps you stay on track and achieve your goals. In fact, not being able to say no is one of the biggest struggles many start-up entrepreneurs claim as their biggest downfall. There are ways of saying no that can make you feel more empowered and in control, and less like you are hurting people’s feelings.
Try saying these things instead; “Sorry, I’m booked with something else right now!” “Thank you, but I’m not taking anything else on right now!” “No, thank you but it sounds lovely, so maybe next time!” “I’m honored but I can’t!” “Thank you so much for thinking of me, but I can’t!” ..Wording your response to people differently, rather than just saying no or I can’t, can have a completely different and more positive and understanding outcome from both parties! – Now you’re feeling guilt free and the other person has a clear response that isn’t a blunt, no!

Make changes to your working environment;

Your environment is filled with positive and negative triggers – the knick knacks on your desk; the rotten banana in the fruit basket; the unused running shoes – all of these things have a slight impact on your decision making on a daily basis. If you have a  home office, try giving it a mini makeover! Rearrange things a little, move your desk to an area that gives a little more Feng Shui. The desk represents your career, ensure it’s situated in a commanding position. When you are in a commanding position (at your desk), you are in command of your life. You are in a position to receive positive energy and do the best work your creative mind can do, without those pesky distractions around you. Try adding some new features to create a more motivational environment, like getting a plant, plants are not only aesthetically pleasing, they help purify the air in your office as well. Clean fresh oxygen helps boost energy! Keep your office clear of any junk, eliminate distractions, and you’ll have a much more productive work day.

Try these tips and notice how your productivity drastically increases!
